In my last blog post, I wrote about mass shootings and the power of silence that follows on social media. For me, it is important to acknowledge that every rose has its thorns – and social media is no exception. Not the worst kind of addiction, but in times when you need to take a step back and reflect, a social media detox proves therapy nonetheless.
With that said, the constant scroll through Twitter feeds sometimes brings the greatest humor of mid-workday, on a Friday.
While President Trump delivered his National Emergency speech on Friday, CNN’s Brian Stelter took to Twitter to narrate his experience as he watched the live broadcast on CBS go from covering President Trump to airing Drew Carey and “The Price Is Right.”
Stelter continued to live-tweet “The Price Is Right” and the thread that unraveled, dismissed every nightmare I have ever lost sleep over, thinking artificial intelligence could replace people and bots could take over the online relationships we enjoy experiencing second-handedly.
Human existence on such a platform as Twitter is the most beautiful thing and seeing how well-known journalists react to the news and everyday events is eye-opening to watch and humorous all the same.
